After submission of the proposal, counties will receive an award email with a Program Funding Agreement (PFA) from AHP based on the approved number of beds proposed. The PFA will set forth the general conditions for disbursement of funds. Once the PFA between the awardee and AHP is fully executed, counties can authorize work to begin on their project and/or draw down funds. Overall funds will only be available through June 30, 2028, so all contracted projects must be completed by that time.

Crisis stabilization units (CSUs) and crisis residential homes are designed for persons to stay for up to 24 hours for CSUs and up to 30 days for crisis residential services for emergency mental health and treatment services and are not in alignment with the intent of this funding opportunity, which is to provide home-like settings to serve between 6 and 10 individuals for an anticipated 18-month length of stay.
